The Report on the Trialling Process (2010)
You can find a copy of the report based on the sample papers issued in 2010 here. Report on the Trialling Process from the State Examinations Commission on the trialling of the draft Leaving Certificate sample papers for phase 1 of Project Maths in the twenty-four schools.
The purpose of the trialling was to measure the effectiveness of the draft sample papers and the marking schemes, rather than to test the current levels of candidate achievement.
As a result of the trialling process and feedback we received from relevant parties, the present report was prepared and amendments were made to the drafts. The finalised versions of the sample papers were issued to coincide with this repost.
Feedback from the trialling exercise has also informed the work of the NCCA in providing further assessment examples for school use.
