Why should I attend Maths Counts 2015?

Maths Counts 2015 is unique in its focus on teaching and learning in the classroom. Teachers get the opportunity to listen to other teachers describe their experience of planning, teaching and reflecting on a wide variety of maths lessons. If you’re looking for ideas for teaching maths, you’ll get lots from the teacher presenters and fellow attendees. In addition you’ll receive a copy of every lesson showcased at the conference, to take home with you.

On top of this you’ll hear a keynote address on teaching problem solving from Prof. Geoffrey Wake as well as presentations from representatives from the State Exams Commission, the NCCA and the Inspectorate.

Here’s some of the teacher feedback from the first Maths Counts conference:

The conference aims to disseminate teachers’ strategies and real classroom experiences focused on students’ learning for post-primary mathematics teachers and third level personnel involved in initial teacher education.

A brochure containing further information (including details of the registration process) will be issued to all Post Primary Schools shortly.
